Tillandsia juncea is a species found in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and Peru. Plants are epiphytes and leaves measure 15-25 cm. The bracts are reddish, and the flowers are purple. The flowers measure 3 cm across.

 

This plant is flowering size and is growing on a mount. Grow Tillandsia juncea on a mount. Make sure the plant gets sufficient air movement, particularly when grown in humidity above 70%; always ensure that humidity is above 50% and give the plant moderate light. Plants need to be sprayed every day at least once. This species likes an intermediate or cool greenhouse or terrarium with night low temperatures of 14-22 degrees and daytime temperatures of 19-30 degrees. Plants will grow indoors if cool night temperatures, sufficient humidity and good air circulation are provided.
