Epigeneium treacherianum is from Sabah (Borneo) and the Philippines. In the wild this species grows in the upper canopy within lowland and hill forest at elevations below 1,200 metres. Inflorescences emerge from the apex of the 4-angled pseudobulb, measure 15cm and bear up to 20 large and fragrant flowers. The flowers each measure 7cm across. Plants usually bloom during the spring and summer. Flowers and inflorescence are large compared to the size of the plant.
Grow Epigeneium treacherianum on a mount with moss under the roots or grow it in a pot with fine grade bark with charcoal and perlite mixed in. Provide moderate light for growth and flowers, spray mounted plants daily to mimic natural moisture conditions increasing in frequency during warmer weather, maintain an intermediate greenhouse with night temperatures of 15-22 degrees and daytime temperatures of 24-30 degrees. Feed plants daily with a dilute solution all year.
