Dendrochilum woodianum is endemic to the Philippines. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte in montane cloud forest at elevations between 1,200 and 2,600 metres. Inflorescences are longer than the leaves, bear many small successively opening flowers that measure about .8cm across. Plants usually bloom during the autumn months.
This is a flowering size plant growing in a pot. Grow Dendrochilum woodianum in a pot or on a mount with a fine bark and moss media, with bright light, never in direct sunlight and give it a lot of water. We grow our plants sitting in a small amount of water or in traps with matting. Grow in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and with night-time temperatures of 13-17 degrees and day temperatures of 23 to 28 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and will grow and flower indoors if given sufficient humidity and light.
