Dendrochilum tortile is a species from Mindanao in the Philippines. In the wild this species grows in mossy forests. Inflorescences measure 15-30 cm, bear c30 small flowers that measures about 1 cm across. Plants usually bloom during the autumn, winter, and spring.

These are flowering size plants growing in pots. Grow Dendrochilum tortile on a mount, in a pot or in a basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite. Give your plant moderate light, never direct sunlight and give it a lot of water all year. We grow our plants sitting in trays with a small amount of water. Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 14-18 degrees and day temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
