Dendrochilum simile is a species from the Sumatra, Java, Flores, Peninsula Malaysia, and Sumbawa. In the wild this species grows in mossy forest and montane forests at elevations between 1,000 and 1,900 metres. Inflorescence’s measure 40cm, bear 30-40 small flowers that measures about 11m across. Plants usually bloom during the spring.
These are flowering size plant growing in pots. Grow Dendrochilum simile on a mount, in a pot or basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite, with bright light, never in direct sunlight and give it a lot of water. We grow our plants sitting in a small amount of water. Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 15-18 degrees and day temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
