Dendrochilum quisumbingianum is from Mindanao in the Philippines. This species is an epiphyte in mossy rainforests at elevations around 2,000 metres. Inflorescences are nodding and measure 30cm, and bear 5-10 small flowers that measure about 9mm across. Pants usually bloom during spring, summer, and autumn.
These are flowering size plants growing in pots. Grow Dendrochilum quisumbingianum on a mount, in a pot or in a basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite. Give your plant moderate shade, never direct or bright sunlight and give it a lot of water all year. We grow our plants sitting in trays with a small amount of water or on wet capillary matting in trays. Plants grow well in an intermediate or cool greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 12-16 degrees and day temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
