Dendrochilum cornutum is from Java, Sumatra, and Bali in Indonesia. In the wild this species grows in cloud forests at lower montane forests at elevations between 300 and 1,200 metres. Inflorescences measure 10-15cm, and bear 50-60 small flowers on each inflorescence that each measure about 7mm across. Plants usually bloom from winter to spring.
These are flowering size plants growing in pots or on a mount so please tell us which you would prefer during checkout. Grow Dendrochilum cornutum on a mount, in a pot or in a basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite. Give your plant in moderate light, never direct or bright sunlight and give it a lot of water all year. We grow many of our plants sitting in trays with a small amount of water. Plants grow well in an intermediate to warm greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 14-18 degrees and day temperatures of 25 to 32 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
