Dendrobium subuliferum is a high elevation orchid species from Papua New Guinea. This species inhabits wet montane cloud forest as an epiphyte or terrestrial at elevations below 3,000 metres. The inflorescences are noticeably short and bear solitary flowers that measure 1.5cm across. The plant blooms at any time of the year.

 

Care Instructions:

Grow Dendrobium subuliferum on a mount for optimal air circulation, ensuring sufficient air movement, especially in humidity above 70% or grow it in a pot with fine grade bark with charcoal and perlite mixed in. Provide moderate light for growth and flowers, spray lightly daily to mimic natural moisture conditions increasing in frequency during warmer weather, maintain an cool or cold greenhouse/terrarium with night temperatures of 6-16 degrees and daytime temperatures of 18-26 degrees. Feed plants daily with a dilute solution all year.
