Habitat and Location:
Dendrobium nudum is a species from Sumatra. In the wild this species inhabits swamps and mangroves at elevations from sea level to 200 metres.
Description:
Inflorescence’s measure 1 cm and emerge from the apices of canes. The blossoms, borne singly or in pairs along the leafless and leaved canes, exude a subtle elegance and are iridescent.
Care Instructions:
To grow Dendrobium nudum successfully, provide bright, indirect light, replicating the dappled sunlight of its natural habitat. This species does well mounted on or in small pots with a coarse, well-draining orchid mix. Water regularly all year, but reduce watering during its winter rest period to avoid root rot.
Maintain daytime temperatures between 24-30°C and nighttime temperatures around 15-20°C. High humidity levels (50-80%) are essential, and good air circulation helps prevent fungal issues. Fertilize lightly every 2-3 weeks during active growth with a balanced orchid fertilizer, reducing feeding during dormancy.
