Dendrobium chameleon is from Taiwan and the Philippines. In the wild this species inhabits damp and wet forest where it hangs pendent at elevations between 600 and 1,000 metres. Inflorescences are short and bear 1-4 flowers and each measure 2.5-4.0cm across. Plants bloom during the early winter months. The name refers to the flowers that quickly change colour as they age, they also develop the strips with age as well.

These plants are flowering size and mounted. Grow Dendrobium chameleon on a mount with a small amount of coarse moss. Plants grow better on a mount. Flowering is stimulated by light and a difference in day and night temperature. Grow your plant in moderate light, never in direct sunlight during the summer and give it consistent water while its actively growing. Grow plants in a warm or intermediate greenhouse with night-time temperatures of 15 - 22 degrees and daytime temperatures of 25 to 32 degrees. Plants can be grown indoors in suitable conditions but will only flower if given sufficient light.
