Coelogyne sanderiana is a species from Borneo and Sumatra. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte in secondary and primary hill forests, a lithophyte on sandstone ridges or on limestone at elevations between 200 and 1,300 metres. Inflorescences bear 5-9 flowers that each measure 6 cm across. Plants bloom in the spring and the flowers are scented.

This plant is flowering sized and it's growing in a pot. Grow Coelogyne sanderiana in a pot with fine bark mixed with moss. Grow plants in moderate light, and never in direct or bright sunlight. Plants do not like to dry out and need excellent quality water all year. Plants grow well in an intermediate to warm greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees and daytime temperatures of 26 to 30 degrees. Plants grow well indoors and will flower if given sufficient light and a difference between day and night temperature.
