Coelogyne longifolia is a species from Sumatra and Java. In the wild this species is a terrestrial, epiphyte or lithophyte in mountain forests at elevations between 1,400 and 2,100 metres. Leaves measure c40 cm. Inflorescences are arching, measure 60 cm and bear several successfully opening flowers that each measure 4 cm across.

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Coelogyne longifolia on a mount or in a pot with fine bark mixed with moss and perlite. Grow plants in moderate light, and never in direct or bright sunlight during the summer. Plants do not like to dry out and need excellent quality water all year. Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees and daytime temperatures of 26 to 30 degrees. Plants grow well indoors and will flower if given a difference between day and night temperature and sufficient light.
