Coelogyne fuscescens is from India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Nepal. In the wild this species is an epiphyte growing in shade in hill and montane forest at elevations between 600 and 2,100 metres. Inflorescences bear 2-6 flowers that measure 5 cm across. Plants bloom during the winter months.
This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Coelogyne fuscescens in a pot with fine bark mixed with moss or on a mount. Grow plants in moderate shade, and never in direct or bright sunlight. Plants do not like to dry out and need excellent quality water all year. Plants grow well in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees and daytime temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees. Plants grow well indoors and will flower if given a difference between day and night temperature.
