Chelonistele sulphurea is from the Philippines, Borneo, Sumatra, Java, and Malaysia. In the wild this species inhabits wet hill and montane forest at elevations between 600 and 2,700 metres. Inflorescence’s measure 20cm and bear up to 15 flowers that each measure 2.5cm across. Flowers are scented and plants bloom in the spring.
This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Chelonistele sulphurea in a pot or on a mount, with moderate light and with a lot of water year-round. Grow in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and give it night-time temperatures of 12-18 degrees and daytime temperatures of 22 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and occasional cool misty air.
