Habitat and Location:

Aglaonema commutatum is a varied aroid that grows into a small tree, native to the Philippines and Sulawesi this species has been introduced into other countries. This species thrives in the shaded forest floor where it grows as a terrestrial in the undergrowth.

 

Description and Key Features:

Aglaonema commutatum varies greatly in its leaf patterns and many cultivar names are known. The flowers are inconspicuous and the fruit is red. This plant has a clonal name of 'Cleopatra'.

 

Care Instructions:

For optimal growth, Aglaonema commutatum should be placed in shade. Plant in a media consisting of soil, fine bark and grit. Water the plant regularly, keeping the media evenly moist.

 

Maintain an intermediate to warm environment with daytime temperatures ranging from 18-38 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures between 15-24 degrees Celsius. Aglaonema commutatum refers high humidity, ideally above 65%.
