Description

Oeoniella polystachys is a species from The Comoros, Madagascar and Réunion. In the wild this species grows in humid lowland forests close to sea level. Inflorescences measure up to 25cm and bear 10-15 flowers. Plants bloom during the spring and are heavily scented just after dusk.

This is a flowering sized plant and is in a pot. Grow Oeoniella polystachys on a mount or in a pot with a fine/medium bark mix. Give plants sufficient air movement, high humidity and moderate light light all year. Never allow plants to dehydrate completely. Grow in a warm greenhouse with night time temperatures of 18- 22 degrees and day time temperatures of 28 to 33 degrees. Plants are better suited for a greenhouse but will grow and potentially flower indoors if given optimum conditions, including warmth, humidity and bright light.
