Description

Aerides lawrenceae is a species endemic to Mindanao in the Philippines. In the wild this epiphytic species inhabits lowland forest up to 500 metres. Inflorescences bear up to 30 fragrant flowers. Flowers are long lasting and plants bloom during the autumn.

This plant is flowering size and is bare root. Grow Aerides falcata in a pot, on a large mount or in a basket with little or no media. Grow plants in bright light, direct sunlight only from autumn until early spring and allow them to dry in between watering. This plant grows well in a warm greenhouse and appreciates night time temperatures of 18-24 degrees and day time temperatures of 27 to 34 degrees. Plants need high humidity, and a lot of light making them more amenable for a greenhouse. Plants will grow indoors if temperature is amenable and they are grown in a pot, plants will only flower indoors if given sufficient light.
