Description

Lockhartia obtusata is from Panama and Columbia. In the wild this species grows in lowland and hill forests at elevations between 500 and 1,000 metres. Inflorescences are short, covered by bracts and emerge from between the distichous leaves, each inflorescence bears a solitary flower.

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Lockhartia obtusata on a mount or in a pot with a medium/fine bark media, in moderate shade, never in direct sunlight during the summer and give it a lot of water while its actively growing. This plant grows well in an intermediate to warm greenhouse and appreciates night time temperatures of 16-20 degrees and day time temperatures of 26 to 31 degrees. Plants can be grown indoors in suitable conditions but will only flower if given enough light.
