Oncidium hyphaematicum is a species found in Columbia, Peru and Ecuador. In the wild this species inhabits seasonally dry forest at 1,000-2,000 metres. The inflorescence measures 180cm, branches many times (3-6 flowers on each branch) and bears masses of flowers. The plant blooms during the spring, the flowers last for several weeks and are nicely scented.

Description

Oncidium hyphaematicum is a species found in Columbia, Peru and Ecuador. In the wild this species inhabits seasonally dry forest at 1,000-2,000 metres. The inflorescence measures 180cm, branches many times (3-6 flowers on each branch) and bears masses of flowers. The plant blooms during the spring, the flowers last for several weeks and are nicely scented.

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Oncidium hyphaematicum in a pot with a fine/medium bark mix, in moderate light, never in direct sunlight during the summer and give it a lot of water while its actively growing. This plant grows well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciates night time temperatures of 14-18 degrees and day time temperatures of 24 to 28 degrees. Plants are suitable for indoors if given air movement and humidity.
