Description

Dendrobium bigibbum is a species from Australia (cape York and the Torres Straight Islands). In the wild this species inhabits seasonal rainforests at elevations up to 600 metres. Inflorescences measure 30cm and bear circa20 flowers.

This is a young plant and is growing on a mount. This plant will flower in two years if given the right conditions and is fed. Grow Dendrobium bigibbum on a mount or in a pot with a fine bark media, in bright light, never in direct sunlight during the summer and give it a lot of water while its actively growing. This plant grows well in a warm greenhouse and appreciates night time temperatures of 18-25 degrees and day time temperatures of 28 to 36 degrees. This species likes winter rest. Plants can be grown indoors in suitable conditions but only if day time temperature is high enough and it gets enough light.
