Description

Trichocentrum ascendens is from Central America. Inflorescence protrude at 90 degrees from the acsneding leaves, measure 15-20cm and bear many flowers. Plants bloom during the summer months.

This is a flowering sized plant and is on a mount. Grow Trichocentrum ascendens on a mount as they are likely to rot in a pot. Give plants sufficient air movement and a difference between day and night temperatures; grow in high humidity and with bright light all year. I have a hydrofogger in my greenhouse and find that I only ever need to be water on the warmest days. Never allow plants to dehydrate completely. Grow in a warm to intermediate greenhouse and with night time temperatures of 15- 25 degrees and day time temperatures of 25 to 33 degrees. Plants are better suited for a greenhouse but will grow and potentially flower indoors if grown in a drier palladium.
