Trichopilia marginata is from central America. In the wild this species is found growing in montane and pre montane forest at elevations between 800 and 1,500 metres. Inflorescences measure 5cm and bear solitary flowers that are fragrant and measure 10cm across. Plants bloom during the spring.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Trichopilia marginata in a pot with moss, in shade (brighter during the winter months), never in direct sunlight and keep it evenly moist all year. This plant grows well in an intermediate greenhouse and will grow indoors if cooler night time temperatures are provided.
