Lockhartia lepticaula is from Peru. In the wild this species grows in montane forests at elevations between 800 and 950 metres. Inflorescences are short, covered by bracts and emerge from between the distichous leaves, each inflorescence is pendent and bear 2-3 flowers.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Lockhartia lepticaula on a mount, in shade, never in direct sunlight. Keep plants evenly moist and let never dry. Grow in an intermediate to warm greenhouse. This species is not suitable for growing indoors.
