In the wild this species grows as a lithophyte on mossy rocks and sometimes as an epiphyte at the bases of trees. The flattened inflorescences bear flowers that form an umbel and measure 4-5cm. Plants bloom during the summer.

Description

In the wild this species grows as a lithophyte on mossy rocks and sometimes as an epiphyte at the bases of trees. The flattened inflorescences bear flowers that form an umbel and measure 4-5cm. Plants bloom during the summer.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Bulbophyllum macraei in a pot, in moderate shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. This species likes a variety of temperatures although should be acclimatised to new temperatures slowly, if in doubt grow it cooler. Plants need a warm to intermediate greenhouse. This plant grows well indoors. Plants self pollinate easily if moved around.
