Description

Trichosalpinx escobarii is from Columbia. In the wild this species inhabits wet montane cloud forest at elevations around 2,900 metres. Inflorescences are longer than the leaves, erect, measure 8cm and bear many simultaneously opening flowers. Plants bloom at any time of the year. Blooming is subject to environmental and cultural conditions being favourable.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Trichosalpinx escobarii in a pot and use sphagnum moss as a media. Make sure the plant gets sufficient air movement particularly when gown in humidity above 80%; always ensure that humidity is sufficiently high and give the plant moderate shade. Plants need to be grown wet; I grow this species sitting in water. This plant grows well in a cool to cold greenhouse, terrarium or indoors in suitable conditions, including, a difference between day and night temperature, air movement and sufficient humidity.
