Phymatidium falcifolium is from Brazil. In the wild this grass or tillandsia-like species inhabits montane and cloud forest at elevations between 500 and 1,700 metres. A plant will produce many inflorescences which are slightly longer than the leaves and bear many tiny white flowers. Plants usually bloom during autumn.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Phymatidium falcifolium on a mount (or on a mossy pole), in deep shade, and keep it evenly moist. Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and will grow indoors if given suitable conditions, including a difference in day and night temperature, sufficient humidity and air movement. I have found this species responds well mounted, grown near a hydrofogger in my greenhouse and where it hardly ever needs to be watered due to its humid location.
