Oncidium spectatissimum is from Venezuela, Columbia and Ecuador and was formally in the defunct genus, Odontoglossum. This species inhabits wet montane cloud forest at elevations between 1,500 and 3,200 metres. Inflorescences bear 6-15+ flowers which measure 10cm across. Plants bloom during spring and the flowers are scented.

Description

Oncidium spectatissimum is from Venezuela, Columbia and Ecuador and was formally in the defunct genus, Odontoglossum. This species inhabits wet montane cloud forest at elevations between 1,500 and 3,200 metres. Inflorescences bear 6-15+ flowers which measure 10cm across. Plants bloom during spring and the flowers are scented.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Oncidium spectatissimum in a pot with a fine bark media, in moderate shade, never in direct or bright sunlight and keep it slightly and evenly moist with the roots cool. This plant will grow well in a cool greenhouse and indoors only with air circulation and a difference between day and night temperatures (night time temperatures should be 5-12 degrees).
