This plant is flowering size. Grow Maxillaria ringens on a broad mount or in a pot with sphagnum moss as the media. Give plants mostly shade with a little light and keep them well watered all year. I grow my plant sitting in a small amount of water. This species is suited to an intermediate greenhouse, temperatures above 14 degrees at night and rising to 27 during the day. However, given the elevations recorded, plants may grow successfully in warmer and cooler temperatures. This species benefits from a mister or hydrofogger nearby. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is enough humidity, there is a difference between day and night temperature, and that air circulation is sufficient but does not dry the air out around the plant.
