Description

Maxillaria marginata is from Brazil. In the wild this species inhabits high mountain forest at elevations between 2,500 and 3,300 metres. Inflorescences measure 10-15cm and bear solitary flowers that measure 4cm across. Plants bloom in the autumn.

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Maxillaria marginata in a pot with a sphagnum/fine bark mix for the media, in moderate shade and keep it well watered all year. This species is suited to a cool to cold greenhouse. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is enough humidity, there is a sufficient difference between day and night temperature and that air circulation is sufficient.
