This plant is flowering size. Grow Maxillaria callichroma in a pot with sphagnum moss as the media. Give plants shade with a little light and keep them well watered all year. I grow this plant sitting in a small amount of water. This species is suited to an intermediate greenhouse, temperatures between 12-16 degrees at night and rising to 26-30 during the day. However, given the elevations recorded, plants may grow successfully in warmer and cooler temperatures. This species benefits from a mister or hydrofogger nearby. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is enough humidity, there is a difference between day and night temperature, and that air circulation is sufficient but does not dry the air out around the plant.
