Masdevallia fractiflexa is a species endemic to Ecuador. In the wild this species inhabits mountain cloud forest and is found growing at elevations of 1,500-2,000 metres. The inflorescences measure 2-5cm and bear solitary flowers that measure 2.5cm. The plant blooms during spring.
