Masdevallia caloptera

Masdevallia caloptera is from Ecuador and Peru. In the wild this species inhabits mountain cloud forest at elevations between 1,800 and 2,600 metres. Inflorescences measure 15cm and bear successively opening flowers that each measure 2cm. Plants bloom during winter.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Masdevallia caloptera in a small pot with moss, in shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. Grow in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and indoors if air circulation is constant, humidity is high, and night time temperatures are low.
