Masdevallia amaluzae is from Ecuador. In the wild this species inhabits rocky outcrops on high mountain cloud forest at elevations between 1,500 and 2,450 metres. Inflorescences measure 5cm and bear successively opening flowers that each measure 3cm. Plants blooms during spring.

This plant is flowering size. Grow Masdevallia amaluzae in a pot with moss or on a mount, in shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. This species needs an intermediate to cool greenhouse and will grow indoors and indoors if air circulation is constant, humidity is very high, and night time temperatures are low.
