Cattleya ghillanyi is from Brazil. This species is found as a lithophyte growing on exposed igneous rock amongst dense undergrowth at elevations between 1,500 and 1,600 metres. Inflorescences measure 10cm, bear four flowers each measuring 4-5cm across. The plant flowers during the spring.
This plant is flowering size. Grow Cattleya ghillanyi in a pot with plenty of gravel in the media, in very bright light and water all year. The plant itself needs to dry rapidly after watering. Grow plants in an intermediate greenhouse and give them cooler temperatures during the winter. Plants will grow indoors under suitable conditions.
