Cattleya caulescens

Cattleya caulescens is from Brazil. This species is found as a lithophyte growing on exposed rock and in sand under bushes. The plant's size depends on the amount of direct sunlight it receives and plants may attain 7-8cm high if grown in direct sunlight, however, the plant usually attains lengths of 20cm. Inflorescences bear 3-6 flowers that each measure 4-5cm across. The plant flowers from autumn and into winter. 

This plant is flowering size. Grow Cattleya caulescens in a pot with plenty of gravel in the media, in very bright light and water it year round, the plant itself needs to dry rapidly after watering. This plant grows well in an intermediate greenhouse although likes cooler temperatures in the winter and will grow indoors under suitable conditions.
